Feature Querying and Selection

The GeoHub NI Map Viewer has four different tools that can be used for both querying and selecting. They allow you to identify certain features by clicking on the map or by searching for specific attributes, and to highlight these on the map. A buffering capability is also provided so that certain conditions can be sought out e.g. highlight all the buildings in a certain area that within 500 metres of a river.

The four tools are:

• Identify
• Select by Polygon
• Select by Attribute
• Select by Location

The results of these tools are returned in the Results dialogue that appears automatically when a query or selection is executed. This results window holds all your results unless you delete them, switch to another saved map or log out of the session. To delete any results from the Results dialogue, right-click them and choose Delete.

Show Results: If you close the results dialogue it can be accessed again by clicking on the Show Results button on the toolbar.
